SplashID reviewed by knowyourcell.com

" If you’re using SplashID to store passwords, you can take advantage of its built-in password generator to create random passwords that make it a lot harder for anyone to steal your online information.

If you’re using the SplashID desktop version on your PC, there’s a wifi connection to keep your PC database in sync with your BlackBerry. SplashID will scan the local network for a running PC version, or you can manually connect to your PC.

Using the two versions together makes a lot of sense, especially if you’re using SplashID to store web site log-on details – which you’re more likely to be using from your PC than from your phone.

SplashID is a surprisingly useful tool. It’s easy to use, and keeps your passwords and secret information where you’re not likely to lose them."

An overall rating of 4 stars... hmmm... ??!

SplashID gets a review on Palm Pre

SplashID on Palm Pre came out with the Backup/ Restore feature which is a great plus. PreCentral says: "Keeping multiple passwords for all of your various accounts is one of the best bets for online security, but remembering all of them can be challenge in and of itself. One solution is to keep them all written down and with you in your wallet or written on sticky notes and posted in various places, but that’s probably a bad idea too. For some, the only way to make managing that plethora of passwords and other pertinent account info work is if they can keep all of them strongly encrypted with one robust password that you can remember and on a device you have with you nearly all the time. Enter SplashID ($7.99 In the App Catalog), an application that allows you to keep all of your passwords in one, (hopefully) secure spot."

SplashID is mentioned in an article on Password Managers

www.examiner.com published this article on Password Managers stating "Increasingly, people expect their smartphones to serve as wallets and organizational notepads, logging into their favorite websites and balancing checking accounts at the touch of that tiny screen. The gravitas of security issues stemming from the liberal use of our favored smartphone is, not surprisingly, on the minds of many. Phishing scams, malware and website break-ins make us all vulnerable to security breaches."

And then they write:
"Los Gatos-based SplashID believes their password manager is the Fort Knox for your information, ensuring your most valuable (and vulnerable) information is secure. Touting half a million users, SplashID is a veteran in the field with many laudatory reviews and accolades during their decade-long tenure.

Their premium service features sophisticated security (via AES and Blowfish encryption cipher), a desktop web browser plugin, secured sharing of encrypted SplashID files to other users and nicely streamlined graphics. Manage your important information from bank accounts and credit cards to frequent flyer programs, web logins and pins securely right from your iPhone without worrying about pesky passwords and security breaches.

This week, SplashID released its latest version of the iPhone app in addition to its anticipated iPad release ($9.99 in the App Store). A pattern-based login enables users to create unique patterns by using their finger and the screen. First impressions are good, with many people citing a sleek, easy to use interface coupled with the security features that SplashID users are long accustomed to."

SplashID for iPad gets reviewed

AppAdvice reviews SplashID 5.3 for iPad.

SplashID is one of the most feature-rich information managers for your iPad. It allows you to store vast amounts of sensitive information such as account passwords, credit cards, prescriptions, notes, and basically anything else you can imagine safely and securely on your portable device.

It’s also one of the most secure information managers available. The app sports both AES and Blowfish encryption and a new special pattern-based login (to go along with numeric and alphabetic) that allows you to create a distinct pattern on the screen with your finger, so even if a thief nabs your expensive device, it would take them an eternity to discover your pattern considering there are millions of possibilities.

Morgan published an article on security in Corp! Magazine.

"While the cost for breaches of security when it comes to passwords, account numbers, PINs and web logins requires solutions, the solutions themselves raise problems for IT managers.

There are well-known standards for creating and maintaining secure passwords, including specifying length, type of characters, and frequency of password changes. Unfortunately, these standards become a hassle for users. The frustration and inconvenience of remembering multiple secure passwords can lead employees to compromise prudent standards."
